Upcoming Royal Mail change on 3rd May - Mandatory Customs Data

We would like to bring to your attention some changes that are going live with Royal Mail on Monday 3rd May.  

We understand that Royal Mail has already communicated this with you.           

Product code changes:         

From 3rd May 2021 Royal Mail will be updating the following product codes that apply to non-personal correspondence:  

DE4, DG4, MP0, MP7, MP8, MP9, MTE, MTF, MTG, MTK and MTO

These adjustments will help you ensure the correct data is being captured for your customers’ items and export standards are being met. 
Existing product codes will still be accessible but you will be required to provide all mandatory pre-advice customs data for non-personal correspondence.

Here's an overview of the fields that will become mandatory, along with what field in Scurri it maps to. If the field is blank/empty the shipment will error. 

- Sender Name: Warehouse name
- Nature of items: Reason for export
- Postage Cost: Shipping Cost or Postage Cost in Service Enhancement area
- Harmonisation Code: Harmonisation Code
- Values: Item Value
- Description: Item Description
- Origin Country: Item Country Origin
